Fiscal Sponsorship

Team Unity, Inc. is a 501 (c ) 3 nonprofit organization that supports and advocates for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion through Multicultural Education/Education Equality–most notably in the New York City Metropolitan Areas. This includes but not limited to proposing and endorsing strategies throughout the education system thatwere developed to assist facilitators responding to the many issues created by rapidly changing demographics and challenges of their student populations; therefore, creating inclusive learning environments.

Team Unity partners this message through Diversity Training, Health Nutrition and Wellness, Culinary Arts, Performing Arts, Athletic Mentorship Programming, Social Justice and Relief Efforts.

This nonprofit will also endorse educational curriculum (through Fiscal Sponsorships) that incorporate knowledge about the histories, cultures, and contributions of diverse groups, and it assumes that the future of all societies is pluralistic. As a public charity, Team Unity, Inc. will fund raise through exhibitions, performances, publications and athletic events that promote cultural criticism; promoting decision-making and critical thinking while moving toward pluralism.

WHAT IS FISCAL SPONSORSHIP?

Fiscal Sponsorship increases funding opportunities for individuals and businesses [in all disciplines]; by allowing them to raise funds using TEAM UNITY INCORPORATED tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3)-classified organization.

According to the National Association of Fiscal Sponsors:

Fiscal sponsorship has evolved as an effective and efficient mode of starting new nonprofits, seeding social movements, and delivering public services. Fiscal sponsorship generally entails a nonprofit organization (the “fiscal sponsor”) agreeing to provide administrative services and oversight to and assume some or all of the legal and financial responsibility for, the activities of groups or individuals engaged in work that relates to the fiscal sponsor’s mission. Fiscal sponsors are tax-exempt, charitable ventures that, according to a recent IRS report “have the ability to receive charitable contributions for specific projects, the infrastructure to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and adequate internal controls to ensure that the funds will be used for the intended charitable purposes.” Simply stated, fiscal sponsors place responsibility for implementing programs in the hands of project leaders while ensuring appropriate fiduciary oversight.

(OPTIONAL) A CUSTOM PROFILE OF YOUR ORGANIZATION OR PROJECT ON TEAM UNITY’S WEBSITE AND THE MEANS TO COLLECT ONLINE DONATIONS.
(OPTIONAL) REMOTE AND IN-PERSON FUNDRAISING STRATEGY-BUILDING WITH TEAM UNITY STAFF EXPERTS, INCLUDING PROPOSAL WRITING, ONLINE GIVING, EVENT PLANNING, AND BOARD DEVELOPMENT.
Donors can make automatic recurring monthly donations
TEAM UNITY can currently accept non-cash donations

Projects should reflect multiculturalism, education, diversity, equity and inclusion, visual arts,culinary arts, health/wellness, food insecurity and have a public benefit, and not be commercial in nature.

“L’Espace De Rêve” Education Fund.
This fund will create a sustainable project addressing careers for those entering the Art Education Sector—most notably curating and appraising. The goal is to raise $250,000 annually to train underserved populations in (but not limited too) Art Education, Collecting, Curating, Appraising and Gallery Management—regardless of race, creed or sexual preference.

Your entire donation is tax-deductible. 90% of your donation will directly aid this sustainable project. The remaining percentage will go to Team Unity Incorporated, a 501(c)(3)-classified organization

Culinary Arts

Melba’s Restaurant opened its doors in 2005 and has come to be regarded as the premier comfort food destination in New York City.

The eponymous restaurant was the vision of founder, Melba Wilson. Being born, bred and buttered in Harlem, Melba knew she wanted to stay close to home so she could nurture and provide an exquisite yet comfortable dining experience to the community that raised her.

The Employees at Melba’s partnered with Team Unity Incorporated to launch the Melba’s COVID-19 Employee Relief Fund. The goal of the fund is to raise a minimum of $250,000 to provide financial relief to the dozens of hourly workers impacted at Melba’s.
